Advertised as a small, personable school….. professors are not the greatest, and there is very little 1 on 1 opportunities. Additionally, NMC doesn’t fully explain all charges nor do they warn of any charges in terms of the dorms. I am now being sued by NMC because of an outstanding balance due to the meal plan and a dorm. I had a commitment scholarship (absolute joke), was told to go to a counselor, talk to the main guy who ran the program, get tudors, etc. It’s all a joke. I have no record of getting a call about an outstanding balance, no email because the email address they had on file was my high school email…. You can’t access that when you’re 20 years old! Long story short, if you’re thinking of going to NMC, RUN AWAY. That’s my opinion. Two of my family members opinions….. and several colleagues and friends. NMC IS THE WORST.

College campus is beautiful, sure. People are friendly enough. My only issue with the school is the lack of communication. The lies of "oh I did send you this email" and they never sent me an email to begin with. Or, I ask for information over and over and I never receive a response back. It's very frustrating. You can't be a school that only gets good stars from how 'clean' the college is. Instructors let bullying happen to students from teachers, other instructors send the rudest email. The experience has been a real struggle. You can't get any communicating done in this place and I can't wait to be graduated.

Medical accommodations are horrific to obtain here. I moved on to a different school, U of M Flint where I was treated with respect and dignity. Unlike the person I felt with here. In fact, I didn’t have any problems at U of M with staff or medical issues. The Veteran rep was great, but being a vet was a negative when dealing with accommodations.

I am only giving it 3 stars because I am sure outside my experience of problems it is a nice establishment. However, for me they make becoming an registered nurse so insufferably difficult that if it wasn't for NMC... I know for a fact I would've been not only a RN by now but doing so for a many years by this point, having a great paying job and better living because of that too along with doing what I like (medical). But nope. That is not the case. All because of NMC and it's dumb "point" sheet stuff. Utterly discouraging. As if we didn't already need nurses and medical professionals badly enough... Then we have NMC making that much more difficult than need be just to have a "chance" to get into a medical class. Absolutely egregious. That aside, I will say the rest of the place seems decent enough though. As my gal was taking a few classes there and I would go with her and keep her company and then chill in the library or be on my laptop outside of her class and so as it pertains to the actual establishment it's nice, clean, and looks fresh. The classes seem to be pretty decent too from what I had observed. Hence why I am giving it a 3. If I was to base it off my experience alone

WARNING--DO NOT LIVE ON CAMPUS. No A/C, No refrigerators and if your room is missing something good luck getting a replacement.. You're basically living in a sweat box for months on end. The staff is extremely up tight and obviously have never been anywhere but Traverse City and who hate their lives and have nothing else better to do than to kick people who aren't from the area out. A student was just kicked out of the dorms for a leaky Capri Sun juice pouch that was left unattended in the dorm hallway. Apparently this student will be facing carpet damage repair fees along with not receiving a reimbursement of nights that weren't spent there. Everything you do is on camera, this place is like big brother. You can only enter and exit one way in the dorms so they can watch you every time. Don't plan on driving around the campus at night unless you want to get pulled over by a rent-a-cop and get the 3rd degree on whether or not you live in the facilities no matter how many times you show a room key and ID. After all the harassment from the staff/ security and sleepless sweaty nights spent here I honestly cannot recommend these facilities to anyone looking to get a nice nights sleep, e
